Bailey "Mink" Rydell has met the boy of her dreams. They share a love of films and talk all day - Alex is perfect. Well, apart from the fact that they've never actually met . . . and neither of them knows the other's real name. When Bailey moves to sunny California to live with her dad, who happens to live in the same town as Alex, she decides to track him down. But finding someone based on online conversations alone proves harder than Bailey thought, and with her irritating but charismatic (and potentially attractive?) colleague Porter Roth distracting her at every turn, will she ever get to meet the mysterious Alex?

I give it - 5/5
My review - This story gave me all the feels and it was just oh so wonderful! I adore Jenn's books and her writing and I was so excited when this came to my house and I had to start it immediately. I had high hopes for this book and it did not disappoint.
In this book we meet Bailey. She is moving in with her father in California, after her parents divorced a year before and things haven't been the same since the incident when she was 14. She is excited to see her father but, also to see if she can find Alex.
Alex is a guy she has been talking to online. They are both big movie buffs and have the same interest. She hasn't told him she's moving to the same place he lives as she wants to find him before she says and keep it a secret but, along the way she gets a job makes friends and meets Porter. Porter is 18 and one of the security guards at the mesuem she is working at. At first, she doesn't like him. She doesn't like that he's attractive and he says somethings that just annoy her but, he makes her laugh.
As the summer goes on and she still hasn't found Alex, will she tell him before the film festival that she's there and wants to see him, or will her spending more and more time with Porter get in the way? Spending time with Porter gets in her way of talking and trying to find Alex but, she isn't complaining as she finds out more things about Porter and his life and she opens up to him....will this be the summer everythings changes for Bailey and will she let it happen?
I really love the father/daughter relationship in this book. I haven't read many books where the father and daughter have a great relationship and they really did in this book. Her relationship with her mother is a little bit strained after what happened a few years ago but, that is something time needs to heal. Bailey is scared to let people in because of what happened. She trusted someone she shouldn't have and now, she is wary of letting people in. Porter has had a few things happen to him in his life but, he is trying to get past it all and get on with his future, he is also hiding something from Bailey and both of them will be shocked by the outcome.
This book is just wonderful. It deals with the ups of friendships and the downfall of friendship. I felt sorry for Porter as one of his friends has gone on a downward spiral and he has tried everything to help him.
This book is full of laughs, loves and family relationships. A story of finally letting people in, even if it scares you but, you never know how great the outcome will be.
