Hello everyone to day 6 of Christmas month!
I have a review of the newest Christmassy book from Sarah Morgan. I am a huge fan of Sarah and she sent me a copy of this book a few months back and I just loved it so much!
Eva Jordan loves everything about Christmas. Even if she is spending it alone housesitting a spectacular Fifth Avenue apartment. What she didn't expect was to find the penthouse still occupied by its gorgeous-and mysterious-owner. Bestselling crime writer Lucas Blade is having the nightmare before Christmas. With a deadline and the anniversary of his wife's death looming, he's isolated himself in his penthouse with only his grief for company. But when the blizzard of the century leaves Eva snowbound in his apartment, Lucas starts to open up to the magic she brings...This Christmas, is Lucas finally ready to trust that happily-ever-afters do exist?
~I was sent a copy from the author - all opinions are my own~
I give it - 4/5
My review - I just love Sarah's writing. I am a huge fan of her books, especially her Christmas ones and this one was just as fantastic as the others I've read. It really put me in the Christmas spirit and it has a hint of drama, heartbreak and an author whose hit a roadblock.
Eva is asked by Lucas Blade grandmother to decorate his house for Christmas as she is worried about him. When Eva gets there she is surprised to see that Lucas hasn't gone away but is at his house and very angry with her. Lucas hasn't been himself since his wife's death. With it coming up to her anniversary and he needs to write a whole new book but has no idea what to write it about, having Eva come into his life just complicates things for him. But, they get stuck together and before they both know, Lucas starts to open up to her and before she knows it, he's writing again.
Can Christmas bring these two together and heal Lucas? Or will it just push Lucas back into his isolated self?
I just love the way Sarah writes and it was such a fantastic story. I loved the relationship between Eva and Lucas and how they are both trying with each other and how Lucas realises he can trust Eva and maybe, just maybe help him finish his novel.
A fantastic Christmassy read that I think everyone will enjoy!
