Everything Alix knows about her life is a lie--at least according to the mysterious young man who's been stalking her. But could her dad really be a bad guy at the helm of an organization that covers up the deadly wrongdoings of some of the country's most rich and powerful? Alix has to make an impossible choice between her father and the young man she's not only falling for, but who's asking her to blow the whistle on the man who raised her. Could someone you have loved and have known for your whole life actually have the heart of a killer?
~I was sent a free copy for this blog tour, this in no way affects my opinion~
I give it - 4/5
My review - First things first, happy publication day to Paolo for The Doubt Factory! I am so happy to be hosting this book today!
I LOVED THIS BOOK!
From the very beginning I was hooked, I was like Alix, wanting to know what 2.0 meant and what it had to do with her father.
Alix comes from a wealthy background. One day at school she see's someone and keeps seeing them around. A boy from an activist group. But she soon learns 2.0 are not after her, but her father. Her father has secrets and is Alix ready to find them out? Will she protect her father? Or find out the truth and do what's right, by exposing his company on what they did and continue to do.
This book kept me interested throughout the whole thing. It talks about how companies continue to deceive it's customers and it is really interesting how Paolo brings this to life. This book is a lot about trust, mainly who can Alix trust. Her father, who before she thought was just a normal man but now knows what he's involved in, or a boy, who has just showed up and is part of a group who are wanting to take them down.
This book takes on sci-fi/thriller and I loved that about it. It's two of my favourite genres and they are combined in this brilliant book that will have you guessing and gripped from the very beginning! It is about a world that is full of lies and how it affects people mentally and physically and I would recommend this book to everyone.
